  Every year, YoungArts selects approximately 170 young artists in ten different disciplines to participate in a signature National YoungArts Week in Miami  where—for one intense week—they take Master classes with world-renowned artists, perform and exhibit in the most prestigious venues in the country, and win cash awards of up to $10,000. YoungArts Winners in their senior year of high school also automatically become eligible for nomination as U.S. Presidential Scholars in the Arts, the nation’s highest honor for young artists.

  National panelists in woodwinds and brass, strings, keyboard, percussion and composition get together to select a group of national finalists for the signature YoungArts event in Miami, FL from more than 600 applicants nationwide.  More than $80,000 in scholarship money in addition to national exposure and career opportunities are some of the benefits extended to the young musicians ages 15-18 through the National YoungArts Foundation.
